The navigation text disappears as you roll over it (at least on my computer).

I think I would make the links in the text to your galleries more obvious...maybe a different color? In my experience, people want to see the pictures as soon as possible. Maybe you could add a navigation just for the galleries and have links for them all on one page too.

Looks pretty nice! Great start!

You have a spelling mistake on your ordering, pricing page. Under cakes you have "Special Occation Cakes" instead of occasion.

And I find the black print on your Valentines Day special a bit faint, you have to really concentrate when your reading it.

Apart from that and having to enter the cupcake photo's, I think it looks really well.

Good luck with it!

I think you did a good job! I especially love the pictures that show 2 & 3 shots of the cake. And the cake logo with the name at the bottom.

Nice website. I think that all the blue makes it hard to find the links to different areas, kind of blends together although a nice look. Great job.

I find the Dark blue kinda of cold, maybe a softer blue but the navagation is great!! I would also make a Galleries tab so customers can go right to the pictures.People always want to see pictures first!! Great set up!!I also like the "About Rachel" section...I find that to be very personable.Great job!!

Hi,
I like the dark blue itself, i don't like the fonts that you use under your photos and also the address. ( maybe you should make it bolder)It is really hard to read. Also in some places the fonts are too small so it hurts eyes when reading. i also think that the fonts for the links on the right should be at least one size bigger.
(this is just my opinion)

I really like the font and drawings you chose and the categories/organization. I agree the blue is just a bit strong, softer would be more welcoming, I think. And like kiddekakes said you need a tab for your beautiful cakes on the homepage.

The only thing that you might reconsider having is the calendar page. I know alot of people have those but here's my rationale-if I were a potential customer and looked and every date was wide open I might question why and the section that says if we are booked call us-most people just won't do that-they see booked and they move on. We all want to think we are special customers and don't want to be squeezed in. You also have February under March reminders.

Overall, I really like the feel of the site-sophisticated but down to earth.
Good luck to you on your new venture!!!!

I agree with Kiddiekakes in that I like the "About Rachel" section. thumbs_up.gif

There were a few things I might change.

Your Home Page-
Start a tradition in your family or at your workplace by ordering beautifully decorated cakes for everyone you know. -change the word "anyone" to "everyone".

Your Cookie/Cupcakes Page-
Add to your celebration with custom cookies to treat your guests. Whether you're celebrating a birthday, baby or wedding shower, anniversary, graduation, retirement, or anything in between [comma] Creations in Cake can create wonderful cookies just for you. -add the comma after "or anything in between" and capitalize your business name.

I didn't realize that you were the one that did the cool pirate and pirate ship cake. icon_eek.gif Very exciting stuff you have going on. Best of luck to you.

Thanks so everyone for all the wonderful advice. Already working on some of the smaller simpler changes. Thanks jdogga for fixing the link problem your awesome. I fixed the spelling, added a gallery link on the homepage and got rid of the date availability (for now). I will try and take into consideration the colour change but I'm not sure just how much I can change because I use a template from a webbuilder progam.

Thanks again and to anyone who hasn't gave me their 2 cents yet or to anyone who still has a cent or two on them KEEP IT COMING LOVE THE FEEDBACK!!! YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

I REALLY recommend a picture on your home page. Especially in that area between your name and address area - or at least a picture of your favorite cake on the front page to give an idea of what to expect. Also instead of having each area have a link to a gallery just put the pictures in the tabbed area - so when you click on wedding cakes you immediately see wedding cakes and don't have to hunt for a link. Pictures definitely make the most impact!! Also Spell and Grammar check all areas there were a few minor errors - Details are important!

This just coming from someone that likes to cruise websites and not a professional!
