I used the chart from Earlene's Cakes, but I am confused as to if the servings that are given are for a 2" one layer or 2" two layer!!! For instance is says that a 9" square pan serves 40; one layer or two??

Any advice would be great; I already have one layer baked and need to know if I need another. Wedding is Sunday!!!

For a wedding cake, that would be a two layer cake. a 9 inch square would cut into 40 pieces easily 8 across one side/ 5 across the other

A single layer will make a much smaller serving, but would still cut into 40 pieces, easily.
