I just set up a free site to display my cakes on. I am not actually selling anything yet, well not true I sold one sheet cake, but wanted to get something set up for when I do want to sell cakes, so I can give people a url to go look at my cakes.

I would love to hear what you guys think:

I love your "Euphoria" logo with the gerbera daisy!

The website looks good!! thumbs_up.gif No prices per slice? Might entice clients more to see an approximate $ per portion?

Great start. Antonia74 has a good suggestion for a price per slice. Most people seem to do that.

Good luck!

Looks great!

You may want to double check all the spelling-the picture below is titled "Vslentine Cupcakes" hehe-happens to the best of us icon_smile.gif

And I must say I LOVE the valentine cupcakes picture. Your back drop with them on a plate then crinkle paper and more hearts below. I love it, it is a great presentation.

I noticed you did it with the valentine cake also. Presentation is everything, expecially in a picture icon_smile.gif)

Leily

Edited for spelling

Yeah I wanted to add a pricing page, but I need to figure out my pricing first. Thanks for the great suggestion.

Great pictures!!! I love the way you decorated around the items....they look wonderful.

The type on the first page needs something. Maybe smaller or fancier....I'm not sure. The fillings page looks professional, but that first page is lacking in a professional quality.

Good luck! thumbs_up.gif

ape, can you expand on the text comment? What can I do to amke it look more proffesional?

I am new to this and really appreciate any advice I can get.

My quick suggestion is to have the "click here" highlighted and linked to go to your filling/flavors section and the most recent creations section instead of having the whole URL listed for customers to see. I think seeing the whole URL is distracting and adds to what ape was referring to in terms of professionality.

Otherwise, I love the rest of your site! Great pics and choices. Good luck!

Its very cute, I love the logo also... very pretty... and one people will remember.

What a great idea to ask for website feedback through a forum.

We have only just set ours up and I have sent it to a couple of friends for feedback but given they are not cake people (we are a special group) they did not necessarily know what sort of things to comment on. Can I BORROW your idea of asking for feedback in another forum?

Once again well done.. you will be selling lots before you know it!!!

Good luck!

Go right ahead!

I actually just looked at your website, it is so well done! I was actually just admiring the way your home page is set up. I may borrow the way you bordeered your pictures on the home page.

I was just thinking this for my page as well, that it might be nice to have a little bio on yourself. I think this might personalize the site a little more.

Also- you picked the right pics to showcase on your home page, your gumpaste work is so beautiful! I haven't tried using gumpaste yet.

Euphoriabakery, your site looks great! I was tinkering around with a new logo program I have (That I know nothing about, lol) and came up with this for you, just to give me some practice with the program. You can snag it for future use if you like it or if you dont like it no harm done, lol. Good luck with your site and cake business!

Nice web site. I'v just done the same thing I had to get mine up and running really quick so I'm not finished with it yet to many people asking to look. I don't have all my pictures in a gallery as of now but as so as I can sit down with my son to finish we will get it done. I already have 2 orders from it. Take a look at www.cakesondemand.com
Have fun with yours looks great.

Yes the purple writing was a glitch, I think I must have acidentally set it to be colored, because it wasn't like that before. Thanks for pointing it out.

Cakesondemand- Your website is outstanding. I can't really afford to pay for a web host and design right now, so I kind of have to go with the free template, but I love your site!

Oh and Sonya, thanks for the logo pic, I really like it and may use it. The current Log I have was just done in Word. I bet the program you have is fun!

You may want to include your general location. When people stumble on web sites, you can get inquiries from Timbukto.

Wow! I'd say you're in business!

Yeah, I would have to agree with providing a general location. And maybe types of cookies if you're planning on offering more than the sugar cookies.

Really, overall very well done. You should be really proud of yourself!

Looks good to me. I have yet to even begin thinking about a web site. Many people have asked if I have one but not any time soon.
