I think he is adorable!!! Great work! Did you cut some cake out for the bed? I have a sketch of a bed like that with kittens in it that I made but I haven't made the cake come to life yet lol, so any tips?

Thank you guys.Here is how I did it.
I baked a 12" x 3" round cake for the basket and just dag the hole in the center,leaving about 1" on the edges.After that I roled the 16" round fondant piece and placed it on the top of the whole thing.Easy enough.Now here comes the dog part.
What I did for the dog is;
I used "Easter Bunny" cake pan.Baked two halves sepearate(maybe you can baked it in one piece, I never found the way to do it).
Than put the two pieces together with icing and cut the ears off.Then I used fondant to build the nose up,and attached a snout on at this time.
If you have a picture the dog you are trying to make it would be helpfull for this next step.Use a grass tip and put the hair(fur) on the dog in the same direction as the picture of the real dog.Let the icing crust a little bid and then attach a fondant earson the dog.After the ears had been attached cover with a fur.Let it all dry really good.And then I used an airbrush($55.00 from wal-mart) with some brown color and just airbrush it in the areas that appear dark on the real dog from your picture.
And o yes, the eyes.I made the eyes with brown fondant and a little dab of black in the center,than attached them to the face and brushed over with dark corn sryup,before the fur went on.And then ofcourse you want to attach the tail.I think that is it,I don't think I missed anything.
