Hi - I'm planning a home-based business soon and I don't know where to start. CakeCentral is a great place to start and share ideas. When you start your business, how did you decide what flavor cakes and frosting you use, cake mixes or scratch? Cookbook? Which flavor are popular? etc.
Well, unfortunately I dod not ahve anythign good to add to your questions. But I would like to know too! So far I have picked disaster combinations!... I would love to know some answers to this question!

What I'm going to do is to go to our local library and see if they carry cake recipe books. I have two books that I might want to try this weekend - it's called Duncan's Cake Magic Part I and II. Some of the recipes sound good, but I'll know it for sure when it comes to tasting.
I may also try Martha Stewart's recipes, but I've heard from other people that some of her cake recipes wasn't that great. I'm going to check with Amazon website and search for cake books to start out with.
Go to ladycakes there are lots of recipes. I just tried Bailey's Irish Cream cake filled with Bailey's Mousse yum!! to many to choose from on that site. Good Luck
If you want to use cake mixes, you should check out the cake doctor book, I think there are acouple out there like I and II
