Hi! I'm planning a home-based business next to my new house. I'm looking for a floorplan/blueprint book or magazine that show all type of small business/shed/farmhouse that can be converted into a small business building right next to my house. Any ideas? I don't want to hire an architect because my husband is going to build me one. He know everything, including reading blueprint. I've seen floorplans in Walmart's magazine section, but they're all houses.

Try your local library in the interior design, architect sections.

hey, i'm working on the same thing. i've found a resturant supply store in my area that i'm going to get my equipment from. they are going to help design my kitchen space for FREE....as long as i buy my equipment from them. they are going to help me place my range/hood...sinks, fridge, tables, shelves...etc. there are actually two places in my area....KESCO and PENKO. KESCO....is a little more pricey up here...but they are soooo much nicer and more helpful. Unfortuantely, I have to go with PENKO b/c they are so much cheaper.....but I'm not as happy w/their customer service skills!!!

i would check into that b/c you are going to need the equipment. unless you've found it used!!!

A local kitchen designer is Hampton Kitchens. They are located in Wake Forest, NC about a 20 minute drive from Raleigh. They have a website but I don't have the link right now. You can put "Hampton Kitchens" into Google to pullup the website.

ncdessert - thanks! I will look into it. Someone told me try to ask any community college's interior design department and set up a scholarship for a student there, like set up a contest for best bakery design and give them money. It's similar to the HGTV's tv show "Designer's Challenge".

Pinkbunny - I will check into NC's commerical kitchen supply and see what they can do. I think it's a great idea!
