I got my first ever paid Wedding Cake Order last night.

As I didn't have any wedding cake photo's to show, I made up an 8" Chocolate Biscuit Cake, cut it into 6 Blocks and Iced Two, just to give them a taste of the cake and see a miniature of my work. I also baked an 8" Carrot Cake, filled and iced it with Almond B/C for the same reason.

Anyway they loved the samples, I took your advise, left them to it a couple of mins to eat whilst I packed them a little box, tied with ribbon and one of my cards to take home. Used the listing of things to ask them that someone else had posted.

This is the cake picture they brought to me in 14", 12" Chocolate Biscuit cake and top tier 10" Carrot Cake, excited at the thoughts of getting my hands on it and a bit nervous at the same time because its topsy turvey. But I think my daughter may be getting a scaled back version for her birthday in March. The wedding is in June....

They want the colours to be Raspberry and White instead of Gold and White, a looped bow for the top and the bottom tier with more of a Harlequin Design.

Thanks Dodibug, I'd already thankfully found that article, printed it off and learned it off by heart, only for that I wouldn't have even thought of taking this job on..... would have scared me to death.

I have a wee advantage though, as the two bottom layers will be a no bake chocolate biscuit cake, I can mould them into shape instead of having to cut them!
