I am new so I don't know much. I saw the Wilton cupcake pan the other day and I thought that bugger would look great as a super-sized 3-D cake. Can this be done? Would you put dowels horizontally? icon_confused.gif Is that possible?

I don't have the book with me, but I want to say that in the 2006 Wilton Yearbook they have a cake like this. I know they have some 3D pans where you 'glue' the two sides together with buttercream.

Exactly TexasSugar! Do you think buttercream is enough though to hold a cake that big? icon_confused.gif That's why I thought maybe using dowels, even though I have never used them before. I think that would look cute. Sure would take some hunk a frosting to cover it though! icon_lol.gif
