Barbara-ann, I'm getting ready to do my own beer bottles and my local grocery store is printing my labels for me. I did them on the computer and printed them then took them to the store. They charge $6 a sheet and I can get 6 labels onto one sheet.
Darn! My mold didnt turn out ! It got all stretched out when I tried to remove it. Now it is all lumpy and wierd. I made it over 2 days, and it seemed dry enough but i guess I didnt do it right. My husband had all these suggestions AFTER I messed up. Any other suggestions? I was thinking about going to the store and trying the other mold stuff, but I think I could only do a half mold, it was like a putty stuff. It said it was for candy and what not. boo for me, I am disapointed.
That's what happened with my first mold. With the second one I sprinkled it with baby powder before removing it and it stopped it from all sticking togoether.

Where did you find the labels? Did you make them up youself?
Thanks for the info.

i love this cake and need to make it by this saturday coming up for a party my sister is throwing. But i am going to have to drive the cake an hour & a half away. I was wondering if anyone knew what size pans sweetresults used or what size pans are good to use (i dont want it to look too small after i get it all together) and also do i need to use a support system in the cake? The last thing i want is hitting a bump on the way there and the cake just die on me. TIA!!
for the ice look you just make the sugar the same as the beer bottles but dont melt as long and then pour it on crinkled up tin foil and when it dries you crush it with a hammer. pretty sure i read this somewhere in this post. HTH
Thanks Melissa043! Can't wait to update my beer cake now. After seeing the ones here, I couldn't possibly share my cake (well unless someone wants a good ole laugh). LOL But my beer bottle cake was THE very 1st cake I ever made. It started this whole cake biz for me....I only wanted to do cupcakes
