I have a pricing question.

I am making a cinderella cake. It is going to be 10" round, 8" round and a small doll cake (using 1.5 quart pyrex bowl) stacked. Frosted in BC w/ fondant accents, edible pearls and luster dust. This is for family so I am giving a discount.

What should I charge?

let's see here, according to the wilton guide to cutting cakes you should have @ 38 servings for the 10" and 24 for the 8" I don't know exactly how many servings for the doll cake though but roughly guessing that it's @ 10-15 that would be @ 72-75 servings altogether. How much do you charge per serving for your regular customers? If you charge @ a dollar a serving that would be $75. If you charge more or less for your regular customers I would go off of that. But just to let you know, Wallymart here (where I work) charges about 1.00 a serving.
So, hun use the information accordingly i would reckon. (wink, wink. A little inside intel is always a good thing). So don't feel bad if you charge em 100.00 or more cause that would be fair (for them ,maybe) imho!!!
Take into account your supplies, and your labor.
Just remember, when you set a price, you can always go down, but harder than heck to go up from a quote. So is better to be a little higher in you pricing than to be too low. That way gives you a little haggle room.

Note: the Wilton servings are for a 2-layer tier (that's 2 cakes stacked) - it sounds like cat121481 is only baking 1 layer of each of those sizes, so we're talking more about 38-40 servings...
