You pretend you're performing a demo for a class of 30 while you decorate your 12-year-old's birthday cake. (Never know when Food Network might call!)

You practice your autograph for when you do your book signing.

I'm learning so many tricks and what a hoot!

I am getting ready to paint so I may have to mix up a batch of royal icing first to fill in the nail holes. My other favorite, luster dust as eyeshadow - I've never thought of that before!!

You lay in bed for 20 minutes at 11pm deciding if you should go back downstairs to look up more ideas/recipes knowing you're getting up in a few hours. icon_smile.gif

Then sneaking downstairs to do it so you don't wake up your husband!

...when you dream about designs and wake up at 2am to put them down on cake then sneak back to bed. Then your husband wakes you at 7 wondering when the heck you did this?!?! icon_smile.gif (true story)

You know your addicted when your sitting in the clinic with your child who has the flu and 104 fever you lean over to your husband and say...
That ladies shirt sure would make a pretty cake!!

He looked at me rolled his eyes and said you have to be kidding.

when you are building a house and design the garage around ALL your cake decorating stuff, add a pantry JUST for your baking goods, shop for kitchen furniture and test the height by sitting down and "testing" it for decorating.

Your thinking....I could take the power bill money add it with the phone bill money and buy a KA Mixer.

I love this thread! LOL, I haven't been doing this very long, but I already relate to all of everyone's posts, although I haven't tried luster dust as eyeshadow yet. Here's mine:

You know you're a cake deco addict when:

You're having to quit work because of a back disability and you budget $550 of your disability back pay to buy all of the organizational shelves and contraptions that you need for all of the cake stuff you've acquired. LOL, you also make sure that there is enough money in that $550 to cover the cost of a kitchenaid pro 600 mixer! Then while you're designing the food budget that you're going to live on with you're best friend, you say, "Oh, we have to include ALL of the cake, cookie, and decorating ingredients that I buy every two weeks in there." (This is all a true story) LOL
