I'm also "reading through 12 pages when I really should be in the shower so I can make it to the bank before they close today.." group..
-You have ONLY read your bookshelf worth of cake books and cake magazines in the "Executive office" either chatting with the Governor or in the tub.. 
-You actually READ a cake book cover to cover
-You know whose recipes are junk and whose are good in above books
-You can doctor any cake or frosting recipe to actually taste good or better
-DH no longer refers to the computer or cake magazines as such, but "cake porn"..
-you know that "Cake porn" has NOTHING to do with the 
(s-word)
-You look at a wedding cake and know exactly what technique and which decorator at which bakery made it!
-You can tell by looking at the cake and smelling it exactly what it is going to taste like and if you want to in fact stomach a piece 
-You aren't afraid to tell coworkers they got on how much they spent on a flat sheet cake..
-Someone (family/co-irker) decides to not use you for their wedding cake (even though you're licensed) and out of spite you make the most elaborate, ultra-high end frosting, specialty color and design matched cake possible for their shower so they can erupt into an argument with their parents on how stupid the couple was not to take the offer 
-You design a new house, and the layout plan involves a licensed kitchen space for doing cakes with a window to a play room so you can have the kids there but they have their own play space away from the kitchen.
-You spend more time designing the licensed kitchen space than you do on any other house plan..
-You insist upon getting dessert "to go" just so you can find out what type of cake a restaurant is using..
-You have a collection of decorative cake servers and knives
-You have not seen your kitchen floor, cabinets, dining room table, basement, folding tables, shelves, etc. because they are all covered in cake stuff..
-You have an area set up for just making cake dummies and separate utensils..
-All of the staff at the cake store know you by name, if they don't know where something is, instead of asking another coworker who is in the back, they just ask you.. AND, they know the 4 items in the store that you don't own yet..
You know you're a cake deco addict when;
You dig through your sink which is piled up with dishes to find your cake pan... And you wash ONLY THAT.
Don't forget the mixer blade, or the spatula, or in my case the one beveled spatual that i need!! My DH hates when I do that!!

AND... THE TOPS OF MY FINGERNAILS ARE LIKE 3 DIFFRENT COLORS, AND I NEVER PAINT MY NAILS

OH my gosh I can relate to soo many of these... I got a resounding AMEN from the one that said their husband is the first one in line to get cake at a party b/c he doesn't get any at home. LOL soo true! (I made 40 doze mini chocolate chip cookies and all my BF got was one small spoonful of the dough) I want to try the royal icing trick but I'll have to do it when my BF isn't around, he just rolled his eyes at me and said "Please don't do it!"
Here are a few more that ring true for me....
...When all you ask for christmas is parchment paper, you receive six and then the second week of march you're out buying more! (good thing my birthday is in a couple of weeks!)
....Get home at midnight after waking up at 5 in the morning, working an 8 hr day then driving a total of 6 hours to and from a 4 hour class and still check out what you missed on CC that day even though you have to be up in another 4 hrs (Every monday)
....Your family wants just a plain cake with no frosting or decorations.. and they'll pay you for it so they get it quicker! (my mom has been wanting a plain chocolate cake for to long now)
...Your family offers to pay you for cookies/cake so they get some!
...You at work, suppose to be designing a set of Stairs and figuring out how to ship an oversized load to Hawaii and instead sketching cake designs (umm.. i swear you won't find proof in my office!)

DH has actually suggested that I go to the salon for some "time off" and I am calculating how much stuff I could order online with that money! LOL!!

HA ....HA HA!!!!!!!! ya got that right! even going out to eat now (which is the ALL time favorite..leaves more time for cake ) is translated into cake toy money! this entree is blah blah blah...that equals 3 containers of luster dust and that new 3d pan I want! no thanks...sir/madam..just a glass of water and the bread that comes with my HUSBANDS meal will be fine! 
..by the way..your shirt would make a FANTASTIC cake!

you think of every excuse/birthday/holiday to make a cake.
you have a pen and paper on the way to work and all you do is design and write plans on how to construct a cake.
you surf the net looking for cool cake deco toys to dream on.
you sit at work dreaming about going home and working on cakes rather than doing your job
you stay up late doing cakes when you know you have to work early the next morning.
you haggle with your DH over computer time just to log onto CC!

lmao. i have approximately 23 various ziplock storage containers. i need to clean out my fridge 'cause I don't have anymore.
oh, and I have birthday cakes planned out for everyone I know for the next 2 years. And all of them are different.
And the extras that I want to try will be sent to work with DH...

Oh my, this thread is hysterical! It has me rolling in laughter. Yes, I've read those books on the toilet behind closed doors so nobody in the family thinks I'm crazy.
I have cleaned out my hall closet to make room for cake decorating items and supplies.
I look at everything with an eye to transform it to fondant and/or gumpaste and put it onto a cake. Nothing is beyond my searching eyes any more. In fact just today, I took my daughters digital camera and took pictures of beautiful blooming weeds (up close) to see how I could incorporate them into my next cake.
And lastly, no catalog that comes in the mail is safe ground any more!
And as for Cake Central - well, when I sit down and think I'll just read a few items for 20-30 minutes and 3 hours goes by - well, I know I'm a cake decorating addict and I LOVE IT!

you've talked to the most unusual people because you want to learn how to airbrush. When you tell them you want to do it on cake instead of a car or a t-shirt they just don't get it. Inhaled too much paint, I guess.
you're willing to move just for a bigger oven.
you dream at night about being on Duff Goldman's team.
you can't wait for school to be out (I'm a teacher) so you can do more cakes!
