My husband and I are wanting to open our own bakery. Was wondering if anyone had an opinion on some of the names we've thought of:

Bennett's Bakery
Lovin' From The Oven
Sweet Tooth

We'll concentrate on making sweet items: cakes, cookies, pies, cinnamon rolls, decorated cakes, etc.

What do you think?

Well, a name business name is very important. I worked for a bakery where the lady named it an Italian name. It wasn't an Italian bakery at all and it was just supposed to be gourmet. Long story short I had to make a million cannolli because that's what people expected. Therefore, may want it to reflect something generic but with a bit of your personality to it. I hope that makes some sense.

Your business name can sometimes place you in the beginning of the phone book if it starts with an "A," which sometimes people will just look at the first one and call that one.

And lastly, do you want the name to have something to do with your name or some catchy phrase, or maybe something elegant. You may want a name which you can market well and have a logo that goes with it. An important note is to check your local division of corporations and fictitious names to make sure the name you like is not already in use.

There's a lot to think about. You are on the right track. Best of luck.
