I have a cake to do tomorrow and I'm wanting to do a basket with the opened lid and a handle. I've never used MMF before. How long does it take to dry? Any ideas for the basket handle that can be done tonight and ready for use tomorrow?

I'm new here and never had a clue what I've been missing! I'm excited about this wonderful site!

WELCOME TO CAKE CENTRAL!! icon_biggrin.gif Be careful though cause it's very addicting!

If you made your basket handle today, it won't be dry by tomorrow. How are you going to put your handle on? Is there a way you could position it without it having to be dry?

I know some people have used Rice Krispie treats to help form some of their cake parts. You could make a handle out of the Rice Krispies and wrap the MMF around that.

Thank you for the tip Leslie. Too late on the addiction warning though... I'm already hooked! LOL

Since this cake is for my mom, and I'll be with it the whole time, I think I will take a handle off of a sand bucket and cover it with MMF, then attach it with royal icing somehow. I'll post a picture if it turns out.

BTW - I wonder if you can bake fondant at a low temp and dry it like play-doh. Hmmmm.....

Your welcome! I can't take the credit though since it wasn't my idea. I've just read it mentioned on here before. Thanks though!
