Hi, all~
Do I need to put the dowels in fondant - covered cake right after I put on the fondant or can I wait until the next day? Would it be too dry to insert them in the cake?
Thanks,
Julie
I have done it the next day no problem or right away too. Should be fine! It won't harden up that much.

Julie you can wait till your ready to stack the cake. The fondant doesn't get dry. It's just smooth & dry looking. It's not hard. I've used different kinds of fondant & MMF is my favorite! They all look like they are dry but they aren't. Hope that helps~
Thanks, tcturtle!
I used mmf. I love it, too. Love the fact that it is so inexpensive to use and also that it tastes so much better than that yucky wilton!

You got that right! Wilton is so nasty! I have a bday cake order for this weekend. The cake has 2 large bows on it. I don't have time to make MMF so I cheated & bought some Satin Ice. 1st time I've used it. Oh, my it's sooo good!! BUT I didn't like that price tag! Next time I'll just make time & make MMF~ What kind of cake are you doing?

I am making a 2 cake (stacked) birthday cake for a 30th birthday party. I'll post the pics this weekend.
Thanks,
Julie
