I have to do a full sheet cake for a nursing home that my ambulance company has a contract with and I want to make them know it was not just picked up from the grocery store. Does anyone have any ideas? I have done a few for other nursing homes and am tired of the same old thing. I was thinking of doing one like my white one in my pictures.. what do you guys think?

Your cakes are great....if it were me I would include lots of vibrant colours on the cake (kind of like those on your awesome Dora cake). I just think colour adds a ray of sunshine and some fun to what can at times be very "institution like, & dreary places" . I'm sure the residents (I'm assuming they are the recipients along with staff) would love it!

That is beautiful.. maybe make the center a little bigger and write something like:
"Friends are the flowers in the garden of life,
They help you through times of trouble and stri
fe"
"Flowers are the sweetest things God ever made, and forgot to put a soul into. "

how about finding out the average age of the patients and do some items from that era? you could do an old radio in one corner, a flapper dress and a zoot (sp) suit in another, a model T Ford. Excuse the ideas. I'm not historically inclined but maybe you are and can help them reminesce of happy times gone by!! They don't have to be boring, you could give them a cartoon-y appearance to them. Make it fun!!
