What is the procedure for making the flowers. Do you form them, dry and then paint? What is used for painting, dry powder, icing coloring? Paint before drying? Add petal dust immediately after painting? I was just amazed at all of the beautiful flowers in the fondant/marzipan/gumpaste section that I want to leave work and get started right away.

Any instruction will be GREATly appreciated.

the answers to your questions are yes!! You can do it all those ways it just depends on what you are doing what you are comfortable with and also what effect you want.

Hm....

I would say, depends on the flower you are doing.

Roses you need to let the base (form a Hershy kiss shape and wire it) dry for 24 hours. Then add your petals. You can pre-color your GP before doing anything, if you want. Or you can make them white and add dusts after. Dusts will only get you so far though - they add tints. You may paint the white GP or airbrush it if you are one of the lucky few who has an air brush, go for it!

Feel free to PM me with any questions!
