Here is my first try at a present cake, and my 1st MMF bow. Butter cake with bavarian cream buttercream, bavarian cream filling, and covered in MMF with MMF decorations. The ribbon with balloons on the bottom border was a clearance item at Michael's (yay!) and the tray was a dollar-store find! It was my inspiration for the design of the cake. I learned a lot with this bow - like, next time make lots of extra loops!

Really adorable. Dumb questions, but what is MMF. I assume it is the abbreviation for a fondant?

Don't you just love it when everything you want for a cake comes together! I love the colors of this cake. It is perfect for all ages! Great job on on the MMF bow and I love all the little presents and balloons all over. Too fun...I bet it took a while to make it all though! Great Job!

Thank you!

Karenelli - MMF is Marshmallow fondant - I only recently started using it and I love love love it! It is so easy to make, and has a wonderful flavor! It is very easy to work with as well.

kjb - Thank you! it really didn't take too long at all! The fondant balloons and presents were cut outs, decorated with buttercream. I work full-time (at something other than cake decorating icon_sad.gif ) so I baked and made fondant 1 night after work, then covered the cake and decorated the next night. Wasn't too bad, really.

Mrs. Missey - your link is missing!!

The colors are fabulous! And the presentation on the platter or cake plate that you used works perfectly!

That is a great cake! If you ranked the difficulty of the bow what would you say and did you use the article at CC to do it?

Great job!

Kudos to you, that cake looks wonderful! Everything is complimentary and I absolutely love the presents ON the present! It does look just like wrapping paper.

You truly did a wonderful job!
