Haven't used it yet, though I am making some for a Strawberry Shortcake Cake next weekend.

From what I have read most people use it instead of fondant.

is it similar to fondant or not in texture?

It is not as "chewy" as MMF. My family liked it MUCH better than MMF for that reason.
I find it harder to work with. I have only used it once on the white anniversary cake in my pics. I thought it tore easier and was more flimsy to get on a cake. Maybe I just need more experience with it. For now I will stick to MMF.

I'd like to try it just because I dont like the taste of fondant. Although it looks really nice I just dont like the taste.
