Hello all icon_biggrin.gif I am a new poster, I have not even posted any of my many cake questions (novice) but first I am having trouble installing a font. I have Windows XP and did everything in troubleshooting and cannot get it to work. I downloaded it fine, unzipped it and cannot get it from my folder to add to new fonts. The PC says it cannot find the folder it is in. Help!

Well, I wish I could help you out. But I am at as much of a loss as you are.

I just wanted to welcome you to our club. I was a lurker for a while before I made my first post. I'm glad you have joined the rest icon_smile.gif

Hope you are able to get some help.

Hi, I have no clue if this is the same problem, but I recently got a new computer with XP, and a new printer, and after a lot of digging, I discovered that with some True Type Fonts, the computer will not allow you to view them because that particular printer is not set up for them! The troubleshooting guide at Microsoft suggests you set a different printer as your default (luckily I kept the old one), but even this didn't let me view those fonts in Word--I was able to print them using print shop for cake writing, business cards, etc.

I would love to find out if someone else knows how to solve this problem, too! I miss my fun fonts!

Thank you for the welcome ladies! In days and weeks coming, I probably will be swarming you all with tons of questions as I have no experience at all. icon_confused.gif

I kept after the darn thing and finally, despite the XP directions that didn't work, I right clicked on it and moved it, which worked! thumbs_up.gif Jaine maybe you can try that, too?

I would like to do a buttercream transfer, would bc or Royal icing be better? Also, asking for opinions, do you think a Celtic font is too "harsh" for a one year old's cake? I love the font and I am Irish but the cake isn't going to be Irish-themed or medieval.....ladybug! Any suggestions on what would be cute?
