Just A Quickie! What Do You Think?

I offered to make a Birthday Cake for a co-worker on the night I'm supposed to be preparing for my trip to Reno tomorrow... excuse me it's after midnight so it's today! LOL
Anyway, I made my famous Double Chocolate Layer cake with Bittersweet Chocolate Frosting because I know this recipe by heart now. I didn't have time to plan any decorating so I just started with an idea and it escalated. The cake below is what I ended up with. It's not a good picture because my camera is so old and the chocolate is so dark. What do you think? It's not too busy is it? I wanted it to look a bit festive. This could also be an opportunity (sp?) to acquire some new clients.
I have to go pack now
Thanks for looking and for any comments you may make.

Nope it's not too busy. I think it is pretty amazing considering you just sort of "threw" it together!
I think it's beautiful! I love the contrasting colors. I wish I could "throw" something like this together, lol, but I'm just beginning. someday I hope to be able to make something beautful like this in a short period of time.
I think it looks GREAT! THe colors are great adn the chocolate brings them out more! Very eye catching!
Looks great! What are the silver beads made from? Have fun in Reno!
Thanks everyone! I feel better about it now.
The silver beads are fondant. My camera makes them look silver but they are actually a light lilac looking color. I have to invest in a new camera soon! LOL
I just want to know how you get the icing so smooth on the sides and the top? Oh, and cake looks cool!
your cake looks wonderful and delicious. so you are comming to my neck of the woods I live just outside of reno what are you planning to do while you are here?
Holy CHocolate Cake, Batman! If that's what you do when you just "slap 'em together"......! WOw!
I think it's a LITTLE too busy. Perhaps no stars on the top or of different colors to not overwhelm the eyes?

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. I Just got back from my trip.
As for smoothing the icing, I use a warm spatula. The trick is in the frozen cakes iced with Bittersweet Chocolate Frosting. There are so many ounces of chocolate in the frosting that when it is applied to the frozen cake, it sets up and is very easy to smooth with a warm spatula.
