Rats! I just ordered 8 colors and every one of them was out of stock. Too late for me I guess.

That would be surprising.. can you PM me a list of the products you tried to buy and I will check on that for you.

I don't think anything should be out of stock yet that we got in today.

Maybe I did something wrong. I picked my colors, (all were showing in stock) added my credit card number, picked my shipping option and when I hit the final "submit" button, I got the colors back with the little boxes to check if I wanted an update when they became in stock. icon_confused.gif

No that doesn't mean anything, just go ahead and finish your order. It did that to me too. I think it just meant you can check them and keep getting email updates regardless.

Kos, be careful befor you do it again, it sounds like you already submitted your order!!

She can check her account and see...I think that choice came up before the order was complete though.

Snicker-
Heath is checking into it for me. I can always use double of what I ordered if I did submit it twice. I don't think I did though.

OK the error that KOS brought to our attention has been fixed.

The problem: After successfully completing checkout, you were taken to a "thank for shopping with us page" where below that message it had a series of checkboxes to be notified when the products you just ordered come back in stock.
This text was misleading. It was worded in a way that made one think the products they just ordered are out of stock.
FIXED
The "out of stock" message options no longer show on the checkout success page.
We have removed that from the checkout success page so it shouldnt be causing anymore confusion

For future reference, is there any way you can put stuff on "backorder" to where we can order everything we want and then get the stuff that's gone later?

I only ask because like this month I have made two Americolor orders for a total of like $11-$12 shipping whereas if my order could have sat on backorder I could have just gotten it when it came in....?

However I guess then you guys would be out shipping right? I am not sure how that works?

Why don't we do backordering:

1. Lower customer satisfaction levels on average when customers wait.

2. Massively more adminstrative work involved in tracking outstanding orders.

3. Back ordering makes us too reliant on our suppliers to come through.

Right now if you buy something, we know we have it in stock and we can ship it out within 24 hours and be done with it and know that you have been taken care of.
