Hoping someone on Cakecentral can inspire me with an idea for my first wedding anniversary cake. I'd like something to surprise my husband and that I could also use for the portfolio I'm trying to build.

Take a look in the photo galleries. There are plenty of great pictures for inspiration. A lot depends on what type of cake you want to make. Stacked, tiered, fondant, Buttercream?

How about a mini recreation of your wedding cake?

I'm thinking of all sorts, lol. We got engaged on the same day a year before in London, he proposed on the London Eye, he'd taken me to see The Phantom of the Opera. Our Wedding had little touches of the Phantom of the Opera also, we had an inscription from one of the songs on our Mass Booklet and he left me a little gift of a little Swarovski bunch of roses tied with a bow to find the morning of the wedding.

So I'm thinking of a Heart Shaped cake, with some sort of reference to the Phantom but I can't think what.

On our Honeymoon we went to South Africa but to throw that into the mix I think would just look a bit mad.

here's a basic idea.

could do on a heart.

adjust colors to match your wedding colors

replace red rose w/ the crystal roses he gave you.

Hey now your talking!

I like the look of those gentlemen! Now I'm thinking, Chocolate Sponge cake with Creme Pattisserie, I could make up the mask in flowerpaste. A Sugarpaste Red Heart Mat to keep my crystal roses clean but now I think about it the slogan has to be "Love Me.... thats all I ask of you". A few musical Notes piped on the sides and a Happy 1st Wedding Anniversary Plaque.
