can someone give me some tips on how to color mmf?

i have just added a little bit of color to my dough with a toothpick and just mashed it with my hands for a long time until there was no white left...is there a better way if you dont want all of your fondant to be the same color? even if you do want it all to be one color.. can you add food coloring when you are mixing it in the mixer?

It works great to add color in the early stages of MMF. I add to the melted marshmallows. The powdered sugar will dim the color somewhat, but I have gotten nice bright color this way. If I want more than one color, make smaller batches and color each one.

It is a lot less work to add the color during the early stage.
