This was another order I had in December. The Wilton babyshower cupcake babies. I was pleased with this one as well. I have just now started experimenting with fondant and I just need patience! icon_rolleyes.gif
No one at the party had ever seen anything like it. My friend wanted to make me promise I wouldn't make these again...couldn't fulfill her promise. She wanted exclusive rights....hehehehe. I used MMF for these. All suggestions are welcome. Thanks to everyone who helped me out on this!!!!!!!1

I love baby shower cupcakes! Yours look great. I love the colour of the fondant too - very pretty. I can see why your friend was pleased with these.

Wow! They are beautiful, but what a lot of work for cupcakes. What would you charge for something like this?

Great Job!

Jenn 123,

Since these were for my best friend I only charged her $35.00. My husband said I better not charge that for anyone else. It was a lot of work. The good thing about this occasion was she knew she was having a girl and so she wanted all the blankets pink. So something all in one color and using MMF I would charge $1.50 per cupcake. If it requires the blankies in different colors then I would do $2.00 per cupcake. Using MMF really cuts your cost and the taste is better. I would say that to make the 40 cupcakes she wanted I maybe spent around $15.00, but I spent around 6 hours combined on making the babies, the blankies, the icing and cupcakes.

Thanks for the info on the colors and pricing! To save time for multi-colors, you could do the blankets in one color and then add details like dots or hearts in the other colors. It would probably be faster to make the pillows and faces out of buttercream too.

Thanks for sharing. These are really great!

Jenn 123,

I would have loved to save time on these, but my friend is very exacting. She didn't want the faces or pillow made out of buttercream, she wanted it just like the book only all in pink. But yes, if the person you are making them for isn't particular, then I would do BC as much as I could.
