Help, I received a request for a volleyball themed cake. This is for a 10 year old girl and need some ideas. Not a big party though. Also where can you buy edible images as I am a new member here. Thanks in advance. \\

Do you have the wilton ball pan?? If so you can make a volley ball from that and put it on top of a 8 or 10 inch round!

Welcome to CC!

You could make a ball (with the ball pan) and have it sitting on a sheet cake or round cake and cover the base with "grass" using tip 233 and green frosting.

Or, you could do a sheet cake with the green grass and then mold some girls playing soccer (made from fondant, ball also made from fondant) with the net in the middle - could be made with fondant frame dried and then use royal icing to "draw" the net.

Good luck!

..or you could just make it into a volleyball shaped cake!

Regarding edible images...are you just looking for the supplies or do you need to find someone to actually make the image for you?

BTW...welcome to Cakecentral!!

Thanks for your feedback. Now I have some things to think about. I don't have the ball pan but I'm going to look to see if that would work also. The edible images--- I was just wanting to purchase images

already to go on cake.

Thanks
Lori

There's also a mini ball pan available from Wilton, that makes six half-spheres that are smaller (maybe 3 inches in diameter?).

I did a soccer ball cake in the fall for DD's soccer team party, and I was really wishing it was smaller while I was doing all of the stars to decorate it!

You could do a small volleyball and put it on a sheet cake made to look like a volleyball court, or maybe a sand volleyball court . . .

Thanks, I like that suggestion too. I think this is going to work out with a little thought.
