Hi guys:
What a pleasure is to see all the beautiful cakes and ideas you so generously give us. I am so pleased to have found you. I have learned a great deal from you guys. I am currently taking Wilton classes and I am taking the Cake decoarating class 3. I am a bit nervous about tier cakes but at the same time I cannot wait to start. The tier cakes look so intimidating to me. I hope I learn quick. I have decorated a few cakes, but off course nothing like you guys. You are all great at this.

I need to ask you if any of you have found a web site were they have ideas on how to decorate Twinkies. I hope you guys can help me with this.

I am going to have the nerves to attach a photo of one of the cake that I have decorated. Just give me your opinion so I can learn a bit more.
Thanks and congratulations to all of you. What a great group of people you are.

It looks like you are doing great. Your icing is very smooth, and the flowers all look good.....

Welcome to CC. I think your cake looks very nice. I took Wilton Course 2 and 3 and really enjoyed the third course, especially learning to work with fondant. The tiered cake was really not that difficult. Good luck and have FUN!!!

betycrker --- that site is adorable. I like the cake done by the chef for his wedding. I dont think that I would have been brave enough to come up with that on my own. I think that I need to be more adventurous when coming up with designs.

Thanks for sharing the site.

The hostess assortment wedding cake would be awesome for a childs bday party, scout meeting, etc. Cool! (and, I don't even like twinkees!)

I forgot to say, "Welcome!" Thanks for bringing up decorated twinkies.

Tina,

Welcome to CC and your cake is very pretty.

Some colors will develope those spots. Did you try mixing your icing again before using?

This is my all time favorite twinkie cake.
http://familyfun.go.com/recipes/special/cake/cake_hotdog/

A hotdog twinkie cake.
Also, if you goto galleries you can look up food cakes
and there are some examples to see.

I finished my wilton III class in november and had a lot of fun with the tiered cake. A lot easier than it looks to put togehter in the course book.
I put candy clay roses on my cake and cherub molds. Dont feel you have to duplicate the cake exactly as it is in the course book.

Good Luck!
Tamara
