I take a cake board and cut a piece that will not quite touch the sides of the pan but will stand up.... I make sure it doesn't scratch my pan coat off too... I mix both cake mixes and have them ready... I pour in the yellow, then the chocolate, then I remove the board .. they'll remain separated for you.. then all you do is bake it! I mark, before I icing my cake, with a toothpick, which side is chocolate so I'll remember after I get it decorated and I can tell the person who ordered the cake which side is what flavoer... hope this helps!!

I always just pour them in at the same time from the opposite sides and they meet in the middle and the line is pretty much straight down the middle. no muss no fuss

I just cut a piece of a cake board just a bit taller than the depth of the pan... I let it just barely touch the sides of the pan (across the width, not the length)... I have my cake mix all ready to go, then just pour yellow into one side, then the chocolate on the other side.. when you remove your board, one half (one side) will be chocolate, the other half (other side will be yellow.

I don't try to layer them with yellow on top of chocolate or vice versa... I've always just split my pan in half and made them different flavors on each side... hope this helps!

I do the same as farrah. Usually I have someone help me but I mix up both mixes in seperate bowls and then I start pouring both mixes in the pan at the same time. I start in the middle and move side to side so that the middle fills up first and they butt up against each other. It works great every time. Then I don't have to worry about finding or cutting a piece of cardboard to fit.
HTH,
Heather

..that is up to you and your customer. Sometimes I will use one kind of filling for the entire cake and sometimes I will use two different fillings..on on each half.

I use a piece of foil folded over several times instead of a cake board. I always have a hard time pouring from 2 bowls at the same time.
