Yeah..............just got my first order for a Wedding Cake and Grooms Cake. She wants simple, square, fondant she thinks. She doesn't like the taste of fondant so I told her I will make up a small sample cake with mmf and let her try it. Anyway....I'm so excited I just have to share.
The cake has to feed 150 and I get to do the grooms cake as well!!! icon_lol.gif

The wedding is April 8th, so not much time. Need to get my drawings going, the good thing is she wants simple, just luster dust and pearls for decorations.

Thanks ya'all icon_smile.gif

I hate to sound stupid but.........here goes. What actual purpose does the grooms cake serve, and is it delivered with the Wedding cake? I told you this was my first Wedding........it was so long ago that I was married that there weren't grooms cakes. icon_redface.gif

A groom's cake usually represents the grooms intrest, collage, or hobby. Yes, it is delivered with the Wedding Cake, and can be placed on the same table or it's own table. That is upto the Bride. Have fun with this. Congratulations.

The groom's cake is also usually chocolate with chocolate icing (except for those armadillos with red velvet cake inside!!). There are some really nice ideas in the gallery if they just want a simple groom's cake

By the way, when you sell a bride a groom's cake, try to convince her not to divide the total number of servings needed between the bridal cake and the groom's cake, as most people take a piece of each cake. I talk up groom's cakes as a special gift for brides to give their grooms and they are to be artistic and luxurious. icon_smile.gif

Thanks everyone. Will be meeting with her next week to talk about her order. Didn't I see someone had an order sheet that they use when a customer makes an order. If someone would be so kind as to point me in that direction, I would appreciate it.
