Has anyone made a cake for an optometrist? I've thought about making a cake that looks like a contact lens case or one that looks like an eyeball. Like to get some good ideas from the forum before I decide.
This isn't for pay, but as a thank you, and maybe some future business. My husband just started wearing contact lenses and he's having a horrible time taking them out and putting them back in. So, he's been to the doctor's office 5 times in the last couple of weeks and this is for the extended wear lenses! This doctor is sooo patient and kind. We just want to show our appreciation. : ) If you have any ideas, please share!
Thanks! icon_smile.gif

I was thinking a sheet cake with the eyechart on it. You could smudge the smaller letters for "blurred" vision.

That's not a bad idea. Would be very simple to do too. I'll give it some thought. Thanks. : )

you could do two eyeballs (mini ball pan or maybe even smaller) with a smiley face (red lips) on top of a square/circular cake with the contact lense case...it would be easier with fondant.

I like the eyechart idea! icon_biggrin.gif

You could make an eye ball using the wilton 3-d sports ball pan and cover with fondant, and a fondant pupil and iris and then pipe red blood vessel lines. (sometimes offices have models of eyes around that look like this).

Or two half balls on a round cake, made up to look like eyes, with fondant or buttercream glasses.

Could make a pair of eyeglasses out of fondant, with a fondant prescription and the number (like 30/20) piped on with black frosting on a round or square base.

Could do a frozen buttercream transfer of that Green one eyed guy from Monster's Inc. lol ( I dont know his name, someone here would though!)

I think thats really sweet of you to do a cake for them being so helpful and patient, I am sure it would be appreciated icon_wink.gif
