Well, I am a big chicken with dairy products, so I tend to not use them if they are a day or two before the expiry date or expired. Mainly because, well with whipped cream say in a topping, the product may not be consumed by the expiration date. And yogurt, haha, well I don't eat it unless it is in something where you cannot taste it, so I wouldn't be able to taste it to see if it tastes ok.
But that is just me kiddo!

On dairy, it's called a "best if used by" date and most stuff will be fine for about 7 days past it, as long as it has been refrigerated properly.

Believe it or not, I just opened a cup of plain yogurt that had expired on Oct 21 and it was just fine. I used 2 Tbsp in a single serving of No Pudge Fudge and threw the rest out, just to be on the safe side.
