I have the large dough disc that I use to roll and transfer the fondant and just flip onto the cake.

I'm not sure what a dough disc is, but I think what I do is similar to Stephanie 214. I roll out the fondant on a large sheet of vinyl from the fabric store and then flip it onto the cake. When it is on the cake, I carefully peel off the vinyl. The vinyl costs about $3.00 a yard and can be used over and over if you roll it up instead of folding it so it doesn't crease. For really large cakes it is nice if you can do it with another person.

Hi itsacake,

The dough disc is a large white round about 20" in size used to roll out dough etc. to keep your table free.

I got it off QVC a couple years ago and only used it when making biscuits...stopped making biscuits so it went into storage.

Then I saw a post about what people used to transport their fondant to the cake and remembered the disc. I pulled it out and tried it when I started using MMF and it works great.

Great for drying decorations also thumbs_up.gif
