I was asked to make a bridal cake for my sister in laws friend whom I dont know. She asked me because I make my 4 childrens birthday cakes every year and she always comments on them. I would like to make a sheet cake to serve 50 people with buttercream icing. She said the bridal party is going to be in lavendar. She also suggested maybe wedding bells.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. icon_lol.gif

My only advice is to be careful with lavender. Florescent lighting and sunlight bleaches it to blue very quickly.

what about a sheet cake with a WonderMold Doll cake on it decorated to look like the bridesmaids' dresses (in lavendar) Doll would be offset to one side. Other side could be balanced with a small bouquet in the same type flower they will be carrying.

the sheet cake would be white (of course) and then could use a stamping techinique to stamp little lavendar wedding bells on it. Wilton sells a "Romantic Stamp Set" that features a bell, 2 doves (left and right facing), champagne glass, bow, and swirl design. (Michaels and A.C. Moore carry it....don't forget the %off coupon!)

put message between doll and bouquet

finish off w/ lavendar borders. (added 1/7) -> or white borders with lavender "leaves" shot between the border shells

and no wise cracks about my doll!

ps. if in a really "go for it mood" use mini-wonder instead and make one for each lady in bridal party and place on cake as if walking down the aisle.
