I have sent this question to your company in the past but the distributors they listed do not sell retail, only wholesale here and I was unable to get the name of anyone here from them.
Is there no retail operation in Canada's capital city of Ottawa, Ontario that sells to the general public from where I can purchase Americolor colours?
I do not want to order on-line from Toronto or out west and pay the mailing and shipping and handling fees nor do I want to order from the U.S., have to pay in U.S. dollars, pay the shipping and handling and then be hit with Custom's fees on top of that. So I am hoping that by now there is a retail operation in Ottawa that sells these to the general public.
I noted in your post that you said we are allowed to ask Americolor questions and direct them to you now, on Cake Central, so I gather because Cake Central is now selling your products, that the rules about advertising and such are waived in your case and it is ok to ask a question. If not, please feel free to delete this post moderators.

..Jackie/Heath have worked out an agreement and invited Colorboy, to Cakecentral, to be an official representative for Americolor!

That is great, I just wasn't sure what the rules were in relationship to advertising and such because of previous restrictions, so I wasn't sure if it was ok to direct questions and such here or not. Thanks for the clarification.

The representatives have not been given open license to post freely all over the place and advertise. We have a mutual agreement with them that allows them to answer specific questions about their products.

So there is nothing wrong with asking them questions... also if anyone else is posting stuff that is from a non-approved company, that will be deleted. You might want to try PM'ming colorboy, not sure how often he will be on the site browsing it...I'm sure he's not an addict yet like us other folks icon_wink.gif

Good News Squirrelly!

Not to let the cat out of the bag too early, but the CakeCentral Shop will be selling Americolor products very soon. Our first shipment of Americolor inventory is on the way to us as I write this icon_smile.gif

I emailed Jim (aka ColorBoy), and he can let you know tomorrow if there are any walk-in retailers in your area that carry Americolor products.

I recently switched to Americolor colors and love them. I bought both sets of colors from Country Kitchens. I don't think I'll be going back to my old colors.

Hi every one icon_smile.gif

I love this site, I feel I can learn just as much from all of you and I am glad to pass on any information that can help. I'm not just a company rep but also a single father to three wonderful boys and a decorator.(Baker, Cook, Dishwasher, Maid) I have taken classes and am learning new things everyday. We have an almost unlimited resource for answering questions in this field because of Hundreds of years of combined experience with the manufacturer and process of color. Some of our customers include some of the most famous decorators and instructors in the world.
As far as Advertising goes....I too love to use AmeriColor and I believe in its philosophies, so it's very hard not to be an advocate. AmeriColor was founded on "Old Fashioned Values" Providing the best possible product at a competitive price, with a focus on customer service.

We have a distributor in British Colombia Canada, but they have no shops in your area icon_sad.gif However they also have to pay tax and customs, which they pass along. The Cake Central Store now offers these colors at the best price I've seen online or elsewhere thumbs_up.gif

Haha, well thank ColorBoy. Sounds like you have a busy time of it!
Think I am going to have to start nagging a few local stores here to look into becoming distributors.
The problem with being in Canada, is well, first of all our government has decided to keep our Canuck dollars low to encourage trade. So the dollar exchange is an issue but also the fact that what the American dollar actually costs us and what the Canadian dollar is actually valued at, are two different things. So it gets pretty darn high when we purchase from the U.S. Plus there is the wait at Customs and such.
But I thank you for your response.

Haha kiddo, I just would like to see a store here carry them so that I know, if I need them, I can get them quickly. There are so many things I have to order from Toronto or the U.S. I think we here in Canada's capital are just not militant enough, haha!
