I have been getting American Cake Decorating's monthly emails and I have finally decided to subscribe to the magazine. My question is about the Mailbox News. Is it pretty good too? I just want to know which one is worth the subsrciption. Are you happy with it? Thanks!

My SIL got me a subscription to ACD for my birthday at the end of November. I cant wait until my first subscription arrives. I have been told that its a good magazine.

I get both of them and I think I like Mailbox News better. American Cake Decorating has a lot of projects and directions on how to do things and Mailbox News has basically all pictures. I like Mailbox News because I tend to get more ideas from it but they are both good.

Just bumping.

Thanks toddsgirl. That's the exact description I was looking for. Anyone else agree?

There was a thread on here a couple months back or so and a lot of people were talking about how they either wanted their money back or were dissatisfied with how slow they were about getting their magazines out to new subscribers.

I really would like to see these magazines because I told my husband that if we couldn't get a good deal on the Wilton Way of Dake Decorating Volumes I-III on EBay, then I would just as well spend the money on the subscription to these two magazines.

Yes, they seem to be really slow about their mailing. I can't seem to figure out when I should be getting them. Also, I had to contact them several times after I subscribed online before they actually sent me a magazine. They definitely have a customer service problem.

I get my American Cake Decorating newsletter via email regularly-anyone else? I really don't remember the timing on the magazine itself.

I get my online one on time regularly, but I do remember seeing a few posts about the fact that people weren't getting their magazine. I hope that won't be a problem for me icon_smile.gif

I get both of them via snail mail...no problems to date. I have to say I prefer the Mailbox News better also. Lots more pics to look at in that one!

I receive both magazines and I like both. ACD can have more technical things and fancier projects and MBN has sooooo many good pictures of people's cakes.

I know the MBN was sent out on Dec 27, but I haven't gotten it yet and if Mrs Missey got both, that means I'm now waiting for both to come in. It was slow going in getting my first issue of ACD when I first subscribed, but haven't had any problems since, so knock on wood! MBN has been on time so far.

Well, I gave in to temptation and went to their website and ordered the one year subscription to both magazines for $45. I was noticing that you can buy back articles of the MBN for like $5. I hope I get them before February!! I want to be positive but with what some of you are saying, I shouldn't hold my breath, huh?!

Would any of you say that there are some back issues that you couldn't live without that are worth ordering?

Okay, when you sign up for the online newsletter, you really aren't getting much as far as I can see. They did have one cake that they walk you through step by step, but I find their websites aren't very helpful. Anyone see something I don't - please clue me in!

The only newsletter doesn't always give you really anything of substance, but sometimes there is something fun and interesting. I just like it because it's a monthly reminder of something I love icon_smile.gif
