I want to replicate the flaming Harley cake that lisa did for my Grandfathers birthday, and she used a frosting sheet for the logo. I don't want to go buy a printer, edible ink, etc etc etc just for this one cake, because right now I just do for family and for fun. Is there any where I can get to make it for me, or any other options? icon_confused.gif I love the seamless look, and don't really want to do a BCT. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!!

TIA
Roxy

as a matter of fact, I don't want to buy all the stuf either, so today while I was out shopping, I asked at Sam's. They told me they wouldn't do it, unless it was bulk, and the manager said they could do it. Then she told me to come back Friday and ask the manager if he or she would do it for me. If they dont' do it normally, why would I ask the manager? A waste of time, though she did tell me one of our local grocery stores sometimes sold them. Also, when I went to my supply store, I asked the only person working there, and the most uselss person working there, but she told me that the Dairy Queen down the road form the supply store, sold them (sometimes) to individuals.

You might try any of those places.

Someone replicated the cake by making the logo using a chocolate transfer. Sorry I can't remember who but it came out really good. Dawn has a tutorial on how to make chocolate transfers.

Another idea is to print out the logo and laminate it. Then your Grandfather would also have a nice keepsake.

Here's a past thread with templates and instructions for that cake if you need them.

Have you tried www.sugarcraft.com? They do 'off the shelf' edible images, as well as they will can photos, etc., as a 'one-off'. Worth a look, if you can't get something locally.

I finally got my own printer(no regrets at all!). Anyway...before that I purchased them at Kroger bakery. Sometimes they will not do it because of copyright issues. It really depends on who helps you! When do you need the cake??? I printed one for a member and sent it to her a few weeks ago. icon_smile.gif

Is a chocolate transfer the same as a FBCT?

Thanks Everyone!! I think I may go with the idea of printing it and laminating ... didn't even think of that. Both him and my Grandma are Harley fans (they are currently turning their Harley into a Trike! icon_eek.gif ) So that would be perfect! Thanks again everyone!

Ask at a local supermarket bakery. I was able to get an edible image done at Target. It only cost $5.00. Just tell them that you only need the image not a cake to go with it. I used it on the cake in my photos with the army logo.
