I start the Wilton class III Tuesday night and was wondering what you learned and if you learn to cover cakes with the fondant?

You learn some of the flowers like lilys, and you do learn how to cover a cake with fondant, and how to make a tiered cake.

I'm thinking about taking the Wilton Courses. I already have all the stuff including the Course books. I just think it might be difficult since I work night shift icon_sad.gif

Susan: most Michaels will have at least one day class. If you have an A.C. Moore or Hobby Lobby check those too.

You might also check for a mom&pop independent craft store and see if they have classes. a local one by me has them on Sat. afternoons and offers classes the chains never offer (air brush, gum paste, etc.)

Susan....you might do a little homework on the instructors, if that is possible. From what I've gathered, there is inconsistency in this area that is pretty drastic. I had the same instructor in all three courses, and she was/is wonderful. I've read horror stories from others who weren't so fortunate. Check it out....

DEFINATELY!! I got lucky and had one of the two best decorators in my area (both pro's who teach on the side)

You might even want to check if they've had their cakes published in American Cake, Mailbox News or some similar cake publication or won any awards in competitions. (the lady who does the airbrush & gumpaste classes here was commissoned by American Cake to do a series of Mom's day cakes)
