I hired someone to help me create a logo. This is her first attempt for me and I want some feedback. You won't hurt my feelings, so please be honest.

I really like your logo. The cake just jumps out at you. Your friend did a good job.

I think it's cute and the pink cake gives it a nice feminine touch. I really think the lettering fits well and looks really good.

My daughter and I really like it....cute how the cake is being rope, it goes with the name very well.

Would be cute also to put a cowboy hat over the ( I ) in wild for the dot or on of the cake to go with theme of your name.

Or leave like it is, either, or we really like it.

Best of luck with what ever logo you choose.

Well, you wanted honest (don't hurt me):

I really like the concept, but the layout and the graphics are very amateurish. The placement of the text is not very pleasing to the eye - and I think the colors could be a bit more vivid.

I agree with BrandiBakes. I think the concept is cute and I like the font. The colors look faded (not in a old western way either). The cake looks like clip art and the lasso doesn't seem to tie into the cake fluidly enough for me. That's just my opinion.

I think she's on the right track though.

*cowering*

I don't care for it either. Something isn't right about it, I can't put my finger on it though. *tip toes out of the room* icon_wink.gif

see that's my problem too...i can't quite put my finger on it....

i need to come up with a way to say this nicely to her since i do know her...i think i might ask for something a little more simple and elegant.

I like the font, I don't like the cake. I like the angle, but the cake itself is crooked. (if you were to sit that cake on a table, it would be leaning). I also think the cake should be closer to the name and the cake should have a second color. I think it's close, just needs to be tweaked a bit.

The choice is ultimately yours. I really like it! It's different and fun. The colors could be a little brighter but I like it.

I like the font, don't like the cake. I do like the lasso idea. The words need to have more a flow - they are too "starched" looking. Good concept however.

Ok, I like the idea and the general direction so far, but I agree ... looks a little amaturish, but this being the first round, she could have put something together quickly to make sure she was on the right track.

I think the colors should be bolder for sure. And Wild and West should be closer together. Wild is sort of floating in space.

The cake is skewed instead of just rotate, that's why it looks to be leaning.

If you don't know her personally and are paying her, and have hired her to do your logo, don't feel bad about telling her what you think. She might be happy for more detailed direction. You need to be happy with the money you're spending.

Also, and this is for everyone who gets logos done professionally. BE SURE TO ASK FOR "VECTOR" FILES LIKE PDFs, EPSs. (or a large, high-resolution file if it's not all vector/lines). This will ensure that you can use the file as large as you want, say for a bridal show booth or something, and it will still look crisp.

You might not be able to open the file, but keep it on a disk for later. Get those files in addition to something you can use when you do your own invoices or letterhead in Word.

(I do freelance design and print production, and I can't tell you how many small businesses have a logo done professionally and don't have anything that can be blown up bigger than 3 inches! - It's frustrating and sad that money is wasted that way icon_sad.gif )

This one is much better. I am going to ask her to center the wording cuz Wild is still up a bit too far and we are going to change the cake...but I think this looks a ton better. What do y'all think?

Definitely better. I don't like the colour combination on the cake, you can barely see the accent colour but you said you're going to change the cake so I suppose that doesn't really matter.

I'd try to go with a less "rigid" cake...more free flowing, and more cream and brown or sage colored.

The improvements are wonderful! One suggestion would be to make the loop in the rope come down as part of your name. It appears as though there is already an "e" looped and it lands right above the "e" in cakes. Remove the black "e" and lower the rope "e" into it's place. Good job!
