HI ALL
I NEED TO MAKE SNOWFLAKES OF ALL DIFFERENT SIZES AND PATTERNS, SHOULD I JUST MAKE SOMETHING UP WITH ROYAL AND LET DRY OR BUTTERCREAM RIGHT ON THE CAKE??
ARE THERE PATTERS OR JUST WING IT?

THANKS IN ADVANCE

You could just wing it right on the cake, but some royal ones would be cute, alot of people on this site have made some cute cakes with snowflakes. Missy from this site sent me some patterns, if you would like me to forward them to you, post your email address on here or email me at [email protected]

I made a snowflake cake using royal. I just kind of winged it. Make sure you pipe it on parchment - I couldn't get the snowflakes off foil w/o breaking.

Another tip to help when using royal icing, is to add 1/4 teaspoon of cream of tartar to the icing for added stability. Also try using cellophane paper instead of wax paper for easier release and less breakage.
