Doing a flat cake would be boring. I was thinking of using the ball pan and making that face on it and then put it on a round or square. What about maybe making a small arm with a thumbs up gesture out of fondant to put with it? I would write 'have a nice birthday" on the bottom cake.

Any other ideas? Dunno if this is kind of lame or not. Not much decoration to the idea!!

just wanted to add, you could also make a cd out of fondant and put happy birthday on it.... Have it next to the case..

I like the ball cake idea, would definitely put it on top of the square cake like you were thinking.

Then take booberfrog's idea of the cd case, and use it for the square cake under your not so happy face/ball cake. Maybe you could even get an edible image printed of the BACK-SIDE of the actual cd to use as the top of the cake under the ball pan.

...could turn into a really interesting cake!
