I am looking for a Wilton football helmet shaped pan. Any help would be appreciated. I wanted to make my husband a cake for his birthday and since he played for Alabama I thought that would be a great cake for him. Thanks a lot.

I used the sports ball pan and carved it. Check out my pics. If this is what you are looking for-let me know if I can help.

I took a look at your cakes and I don't think I have the skills yet to do that cake. It was great. I don't have the confidence yet either. I'm just learning. icon_redface.gif

Me too! Believe me when I tell you it wasn't that hard and since that one I have done a steelers one too and learned a few even easier tips I would be more than happy to pass along.

Bake the cake in the sports ball pan. When cool, wrap well and freeze both 1/2. While frozen cut the bottom of one so it will sit flat on a board the same size. level both cakes and fill as you usually would. While still frozen cut out the face mask part. I just eyeballed it. I did wait for it to defrost before icing in BC (I wasn't sure about icing a frozen cake, I am new too) I used the viva paper towel trick to get it smooth. All the rest of the parts are MMF and just stuck on.
The new easy trick I discovered was to use floral wire and cover it with the MMF for the face mask. That way you don't have to wait days for it to dry and worry about it breaking. It can easily be shaped and it stays in place. Just warn the client not to eat it.

How about doing a fbct or a gel transfer on a sheet or round cake...both are easy to do thumbs_up.gif
