What Else Can I Use Besides Candy Melts?

What other kind of chocolate can I use in the candy molds? So far I've only used the Wilton candy melts, but I'd like to use some real chocolate.
Can chocolate chips be used? Or how about those big bars of plain milk chocolate?
Thanks!
I always use almond bark, its cheaper and I think it pours much nicer than candy melts...and the white kind colors the same as well and paints nicer.
I use a blend of 3 different "chocolates'. Not just melts. You can use any kind you want, basically.
You can use any type of chocolate you want. You just need to make sure you temper it correctly. That's why most people use bark or melts, because you do not need to temper it.
Thanks for all the replies!
I'm assuming that almond bark has almonds in it, and I need to keep this nut free.
How about chocolate chips?
No, almond bark does not have almonds in it. For some reason that is just the name. You can find it in the baking section with the other chocolates.

REAL almond bark, yes, Almonds in it, The kind talked about here, is no almonds. Crazy, I know. It's a smoother mix, that's about all.
Personally, I wouldn't use JUST Chocolate chips by themselves. At the very least, throw a bag of Chocolate Chips and a bag of melts together. Straight chips have a tendency to stick to the molds and making it nearly impossible to get out of the mold, if not unusable ever again.
I guess they call it "almond bark" because that is the kind of candy alot of people used to make with it...they would pour it over almonds and then break it up into pieces.
I much prefer using white almond bark though, it melts nicer than the candy melts. The candy melts are too thick. I also think the almond bark dries a little harder than the melts and it makes an excellent "glue" for last minute fondant fixes or other such things on cakes.
I only use candy wafers. I have used the almond bark from Walmart, but I handpaint lollipops with white tinted then fill with milk chocolate. The bark does not set up as well as the wafers for this. But for what you are needing, the bark will be fine. I would stay away from the tempering chocolate if you are new to it.
