Hi, everyone. I just got asked-literally- to do a cake for a New Year's/ birthday party. A guy my hubby works with wants to surprise his wife whose bday is the Jan 3rd. He has given me free reign, but I am at a total loss. He said that she loves everything and every color. But I haven't done a cake in awhile and the juices just aren't flowing!! Can anyone maybe steer me in some kind of direction? I have really missed you guys and boy have we grown on here!!!
TIA,
Tanya
I like this cake I saw in the gallery by Farrah. Maybe tailor it by putting the year 2006 in the corners in place of the scroll designs and write Happy Birthday in the center between some flowers.

Hope this helps.
I would take a quick look through the gallery. I can always find insiration there.
Good luck
i just did a new year cake that could serve as both purposes, it is the garfield cake, you could do something like that as it is a big celebration.
Thanks for the help you guys!. I have been scrolling through the gallery and just thinking of things I could try. I was thinking of making a bow at least to put on the cake. But maybe a floral bouquet would work. I am going to get cracking on the bow in a few just in case I need it-no work today. So we will see what I can come up with. Wish me luck!!!
Thanks,
Tanya
