I used to be THE cookie person in my highschool... every christmas I handed out cookies to all my friends, and in my senior year, the senior comittee approached me to make 100+ decorated christmas tree cookies which I did for a pittance (but a heck of a lot of money to the then 17 year old me!) .. I've not made decorated cookies since though.. just stuff like choc chip. So this christmas I decided to hop back on the bandwagon. I tell you - 12 years of not using a piping bag will destroy your skills. It took me a lot of effort to get the cookies coated just right... and then I discovered that for whatever reason instead of picking up a #1 piping tip for fine detailed lines, I had bought a #4 ! But what the heck, I used it anyways. And even I will admit, I did myself proud!
I was so happy!

And yes, each and every single one is different. I just photographed some of them as I was running late to christmas dinner when I realized (after wrapping them of course - an I did a crappy job of that too) that I hadn't taken any photos of the finished cookies.
My goal here is to get good enough that next year around the holiday season I can take orders. I had loads of fun with these!
