I saw people advertising and asking questions about the edible image printers, is there a specific brand and/or model that's recommended, or can you use any new printer as long as you use the edible ink/paper in it?

I think Canon is the brand that is best, and that most places carry inks for. I think there are several different models and some you can get pretty cheap. I got the iP4200 on Amazon for less than $100 thanks to a tip from Cakepro.

thanks. I was just looking at ebay and there were multiple ones of the ip1600 like the link you just sent that the buy now feature plus shipping was less than just the buy price for that website. Something others might want to look at if they're looking for a printer too. Thanks for the help.

I haven't made on yet but I am sure someone else will be able to help out on that one. I am still looking for a good place to get edible ink and paper...my printer just got here today!

I think someone had posted earlier about that printer. I'm assuming it may be a model that the ip1600 replaced. I'm sure it's pretty good. I know that the lady that posted about it said they were like $27.99 or something, but they're out of them on that site.

Maybe they will be on sale after Christmas. I looked at Walmart.com and they have them for $49.97 I think it was. Thank you for the kopykake site.

Claudine I'm not sure how much you're wanting to spend on a printer, but here's one of the newer models cannon has and it's actually at a pretty reasonable price. it's the iP6000D

yeah, they have a lot of reasonably priced ones on there. It's a great place to do Christmas shopping too. One site, with several stores on it. You can find just about anything there.

I have the ip3000 and it works great. It has the 4 cartridge system and the ink lasts for a while. I got my printer from Office Depot for around 80.00...that was good so I did not have to pay for shipping. Best Buy is another place that you can sometimes find them in stock. icon_smile.gif
