Betty Crocker...cake Extender Recipe
Decorating By mommachris Updated 24 Dec 2005 , 9:36pm by irisinbloom
Dd is making a cinnamon swirl cake in a 13x9 sheet cake pan.
I was hoping that we could use an extender recipe so we wouldn't have to make two mixes like last time I used that pan.
The box says that the mix has a cup of pudding already in it so.....what can I add to boost up the volume.
Any suggestions?

There is an extender recipe in the recipe section..makes about 6.5 cups of better...fills up my 9x13 pan nicely..if u bake at 325 u also get less of a dome, which means more cake!
mommachris this is the extender I tried the other day and it worked really good
1 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking powder
1 egg
1/2 cup water
cakefairy and iris in bloom,
thanks so much for responding.
I'd tried to find the extender recipe in the recipe page but wasn't getting any response to "extender" so I went ahead and made the second mix.
Used the rose nail like every one here advised but for got to turn the oven down to 325 so I got a really nice dome.
Iris wrote down your recipe.
I'm assuming that this is in addition to what the box calls for right?!
I'll browse the recipe page in more detail another day.
So much to do on my list for the next couple of days...sigh.
happy baking

mommachris, that is correct, make the box mix as stated on back of box and then add the extender recipe
