I was wondering how y'all are doing samples for customers..are you just keeping different kinds of cakes in the freezer? (pieces) What if you don't have a sample?

I know some places charge for samples. I think I would just make 4 or 6in cakes for the person to try. Im just getting started so I wouldn't charge at this point-just adjust my recipes to make a small amount. But I wouldn't go crazy either-they would have to have a couple of ideas in mind not everything!!

I usually only do samples for wedding cake customers unless someone specifically asks. If I know ahead of time...I will make a few extra cupcakes from extra batter I am making other cakes with. Most people in my area do not sample unless it is for a wedding. icon_smile.gif
