Last night I had to make 9 cakes for delivery today. I only got three hours of sleep and still had to come to work at my full time job today. I made the following cakes:

2-6" Strawberry
1-8" Strawberry
1-8" Coconut
1-8" Carrot
1-Lemon Pound Cake
1-10" German Chocolate
1-10" Red Velvet
1-8" Key Lime

I'll never take this many orders again to be delivered on the same day especially since I have a 19 month old daughter tugging at my leg all the time. It PAID off in the end. icon_biggrin.gif

Wow! That is a lot. Did you bake any of them ahead of time and freeze them? I have 11 cakes due next week, on the 27th all the same flavor though, and all white icing, thank goodness. I'm starting this week so I can hopefully have the majority of the work done, and all I'll have to do is ice & decorate next week.

Whew...I'd be dead if I had to do that many.

Try to get some much needed rest and drink plenty of OJ.

Congrats on your orders and getting them done in time.

You have been really busy...no wonder you are so tired! I think it would have been easier on you if you did not have all those different flavors! I hope the decorating was not too difficult. I would say you need to stay away from your kitchen for a few days!

Great job on getting it all done! thumbs_up.gif

Good grief! I don't think I could have pulled that off--I need to pace myself.

Agent Cake Baker YOU GO GIRL!!! thumbs_up.gif Just having a 19 month old would wear me out alone! I understand I have 20 homestyle cakes due this week, and I still have to put in 40 hours this week at my full-time job. You must work for the State of GA!

My goodness that's a lot of cakes. Nice going being able to pull it all off, especially with a 19-month old.

Unfortunately I do not have a miniature freezer except for the one attached to the refrigerator so I couldn't freeze any of them. Thankfully no one wanted them decorated. Just the flavor and the base icing. The main reason for doing them in one day was because I was going out of town for two weeks and really needed to boost my customer base b/c it has been slow lately. Hopefully I can get cakes on the regular now.
