My "cool-whip like" lesson.... - Page 2

Here is the one I use and am very happy with. I don't use boiling water though, just hot water.

Dream Whip Icing

2lbs or 1 kg bag of confectioners sugar
1 pkg dream whip
1/2 cup boiling water
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups crisco shortening
2 tsp clear vanilla flavouring
1 Tbsp clear corn syrup
2-3 tbs flour

Cream shortening, add dream whip then corn syrup then rest of ingredients. You can't taste the flour but if you are worried use less.
Whip up till fluffy. No need for refrigeration but it is fine in the fridge as well. Tastes great, not so sweet and crusts well.

Your cake is beautiful. I use the dream whip recipe all the time, alittle different from this one but basically the same, and have no problems. I even did my sons wedding cake with this, and it worked great.

I have done shells and a few other things. I can't recall if I have ever done roses using it. What I have at home right now is a mix of the dream whip and a regular buttercream recipe (long story, LOL) or I would try it out when I get home and give you a yes or no. But I think the answer is YES. It just depends on how much water you add. If you want it thicker add less water. : )

OK this may be a stupid question but what exactly is dream whip. Is it like cool whip or is it a packet of something you mix. I've never seen it but it sounds yummy to me. Where is it located in the grocery store.
Oh and mama you cake looks great.

it's a package mix

most WalMarts have it in the baking isle, usually on the same side as the sugar, on top shelf near gelatin, etc.

Great cake. I really like it. Sorry about your hard time. I recently had a cake that was a difficult one. I was so disappointed in it I didn't even take a picture. Yours is very cute. I love the colors.
