Yesterday, I got a call from a local call center who wanted 4 half sheet cakes - 2 chocolate, 2 white! The bad news was they wanted them for today! icon_eek.gif They must think I can pull them out of the air! So the good news is... I accepted the job, got paid well for it and I got all 4 cakes completed! I am no worse for the wear (minus about 8 hours of sleep) but still functioning. I was lucky cause I was able to get a sitter for today so I could work on the cakes. 2 were due this morning at 9 am and 2 more due at 3 pm. Gosh... never thought I could pull this off... I'll post pictures later of all of them. Anyway, I just wanted to share.

Congratulations!!! I am impressed that you got all that done with so little notice. Just goes to show what we can do when our mind is made up (and the money is coming in icon_lol.gif )!

please tell me you guys make a point of telling these people that short notice is extra cost and that you don't do business like this normally cause you'll get these phone calls all the time if you don't make it clear it is inconvenient.

just my thoughts

Oh, I made it quite clear that this is the first and last time I will do cakes on this short of notice...and she paid through the teeth for it! icon_biggrin.gif

They were decorated with BC with the company's logo on it (very small FBCT). I refused to do any real fancy stuff cause the time was not there. I hope they enjoyed it icon_biggrin.gif

I have to say tho, I'm aching all over today - like I ran a marathon or something. Some glad I'm going on vacation tomorrow.

Krista,

You go girl thumbs_up.gif

Congrats on finishing the job and try to get some rest after the last one is gone.

Take a long hot bubble bath, drink plenty OJ and go to bed and sleep till tomorrow thumbs_up.gif

You have put your body through the wringer and you don't want to get sick just before the holidays.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year party.gif

Congratulations on all your hard work! thumbs_up.gif

For some reason people seem to think we are magic and cakes appear just as we need them! My daughter's school called me last week wanting a cake to feed 250 people....for the next day!!!! I was almost speechless...but they ended up settling for one full sheet cake!!!! icon_smile.gif
